After seeing Utah strut his stuff as a veteran in the show ring at the Norwegian Winner in 2017, I decided that one day I would include this outstanding male in Adorea’s breeding program. Eight years later, that dream came true. Keth generously allowed us to use some of the last available semen from Utah, and we are both very excited to see what he will produce together with Nemi.
Both parents have had excellent health throughout their lives.
About Nemi
Nemi is a sweet-tempered and easygoing girl with a calm and balanced nature. She gets along well with all other dogs and is very affectionate and cuddly. Nemi is also very patient with children and truly an excellent family dog.
She is a well-built bitch with very good movement, and I thoroughly enjoy running her in the show ring.
Nemi lives on breeder’s terms with Elin and her family, close to us. Elin also owned Nemi’s grandmother, Chloe, who was a liver nose. Just a couple of weeks before our N-litter was born, Elin sadly lost Chloe. While sitting by the whelping box, Chloe’s daughter Jlo gave birth to a liver nose puppy — and it felt simply meant to be that Nemi should move to Elin and become part of her pack (kennel sisters Isadora and Lykke).
Here are some photos of Nemi’s parents and from the N-litter’s eight weeks here at Kennel Adorea. Giving a glimpse into what the pups experiened when they were here.
About Utah
As I wrote above I will never forget Utah’s movement when he became Best Male at the huge Norwegian Winner show in 2017 — it was truly something special to witness. His effortless stride and balance immediately stood out.
Utah is a male with an outstanding and well-documented temperament. He has completed an excellent mentality test as well as a bear test, showing courage, stability and confidence without unnecessary sharpness. He is an uncomplicated and socially skilled dog, calm and respectful around other dogs, and open and approachable towards people.
In addition to his strong mentality, Utah is an excellent tracking dog. He is a blood tracking champion.
Utah has sired 5 litters — in Norway, Finland and Sweden — and his offspring consistently reflect his positive qualities and has no known health concerns.
The Combination – Nemi × Utah
When planning this litter, our focus was on creating a well-balanced combination, where the two parents complement each other in a thoughtful and purposeful way.
Nemi is a calm and uncomplicated bitch. She is gentle by nature and easy to live with, but not an overly bold or forward dog. For this reason, it was important for us to select a male with a higher degree of confidence, curiosity and natural courage, while still maintaining a sound and stable mindset.
Utah brings these qualities into the combination. He is a confident and curious male with good nerve strength and an open, accessible temperament.
From a conformation perspective, they also complement each other well. Utah’s powerful stride and elasticity fit nicely with Nemi’s correct construction and functional movement. This gives us reason to expect puppies with balanced angulations and efficient, ground-covering movement.
Both parents are healthy, mentally sound and come from pedigrees known for producing reliable and well-functioning dogs.

Not All Puppies Are Show Dogs
In every litter, there may be puppies that are not suitable for the show ring. Some may have an extra crown in their ridge, a kinked tail, or be born without a ridge altogether. These puppies are just as wonderful, loving, and healthy as their show-potential siblings.
At Kennel Adorea, we always welcome applications from non-show homes that can provide an active, responsible, and loving environment for these equally special puppies.
The «Q»-Names
All puppies in this litter will have names that begin with the letter «Q». The puppy buyers get to choose the name themselves, and we want you to use the «Q-name» as the dog’s everyday name. It’s part of what connects each puppy back to this special litter at Kennel Adorea. Almost all names that start with «K» can be switched with «Q».
The Pup’s First 8 Weeks at Kennel Adorea
We put a lot of love and effort into socializing our puppies during their first 8 weeks.
-
They will meet people of all ages and sizes, interact with different dogs, and perhaps encounter other animals.
-
The pups will also travel by car frequently to help them feel confident and calm during the journey to their new homes.
Early Weeks:
-
For the first two weeks, the puppies stay in a quiet room in a cozy puppy pen.
-
At around 2 weeks of age, they move to the room next door, to my home office to a larger puppy pen. I can then watch them while I work, and they get more space to play. And start to hear all the sounds and get to cuddle our kids.
-
When they are around 4 weeks, they move again to a large puppy garden in the living room.
-
From this point, they will experience the full range of household sounds and daily life.
Later Weeks:
-
At 6 weeks, we start car trips and small adventures to build confidence and curiosity.
-
They will also spend a lot of time outside exploring different environments.
-
Our three children handle the puppies daily until they leave for their new homes—early socialization is important!
When They Leave Us:
All puppies will go to their new homes with:
-
NKK (Norwegian Kennel Club) buyer’s contract
-
Pedigree
-
Veterinary certification
-
Deworming
-
Implanted ID tag
-
A wealth of information
-
Puppy gifts
-
Starter food
-
Ongoing support from us for the dog’s entire life
Kennel Adorea will decide around 7–7.5 weeks of age which puppy goes to which home. To help us make the best match, we’ll need to know what your plans and lifestyle are.
You can follow the litter’s everyday life from birth to delivery in a dedicated photo album on our Facebook page!
Are You the Right Home for a Ridgeback Puppy?
At Kennel Adorea, we only sell puppies to active people who have carefully considered what it truly means to own a Rhodesian Ridgeback. This is a breed that needs both physical and mental stimulation to thrive. A well-activated Ridgeback is a more harmonious and balanced companion.
Before getting a puppy from us, here are some important things to consider:
-
Time off for the puppy: You must be able to take time off work or have the opportunity to bring the puppy with you during the first period after delivery. For the next few months, you must have arrangements so the puppy is not left alone all day.
-
Allergy check: Please make sure no one in the household is allergic to dogs before considering a puppy.
-
Socialization and stimulation: You must have the time and energy to activate and socialize your puppy, giving it the best foundation for a happy life.
-
Financial responsibility: You must be able to afford quality food, proper equipment, dog courses, vet visits, vaccinations, and insurance.
-
Health checks: You are required to X-ray your dog for hip and elbow dysplasia (HD and AA) around 12–18 months of age, and to visit the vet whenever needed.
-
Lifetime commitment: You must be able to offer a loving, active, and permanent home. The dog should be an integrated part of your family.
I would also like to meet you before deciding if you’re the right match for one of our puppies. It’s important that both you and I feel comfortable with the decision, as we will be in touch for many years ahead. If you live far north or abroad, references and online meetings can be arranged.
Lastly, if you are on multiple puppy lists, I appreciate open communication. Please keep me updated and let me know if you decide to buy a puppy elsewhere.
